
JBJS Essential Surgical Techniques is currently seeking papers and videos on a wide range of techniques, including common procedures such as:
Hand and Upper Extremity
- Tendon sheath incision (e.g., for trigger finger)
- Excision of wrist ganglion (dorsal or volar)
- Open repair of chronic rupture of musculotendinous cuff (e.g., rotator cuff)
- Arthroscopy of shoulder, with debridement
- Claviculectomy (partial)
- Neuroplasty and/or transposition of ulnar nerve at elbow
- Incision of extensor tendon sheath in the wrist (e.g., for de Quervain disease)
- Excision of lesion of tendon sheath or joint capsule of hand or finger (e.g., cyst, mucous cyst, or ganglion)
- Repair of extensor tendon of finger without free graft (primary or secondary)
- Open and percutaneous treatment of phalangeal fractures
Trauma
- Open treatment of ankle fracture (solitary medial or lateral malleolar, bimalleolar, trimalleolar)
- Percutaneous skeletal fixation of distal radial fracture, with or without external fixation
- Primary repair of Achilles tendon rupture (open or percutaneous)
- Open treatment of patellar fracture with internal fixation and/or partial or complete patellectomy and soft-tissue repair
- Closed treatment of radial and ulnar shaft fractures with manipulation
Foot
- Correction of hammertoe (e.g., interphalangeal fusion, partial or total phalangectomy)
